Most women only know two options — HRT or supplements. There is a third — and most women have never been told it exists.

Honest perspectives from both sides of medicine
Maybe you're right in the middle of it — the 3am wake-ups, the brain fog, the weight that appeared from nowhere.
Maybe you're in that quieter preparation window, wondering what's coming.
Maybe you thought you were done — the periods stopped, the finish line was supposed to be there — and somehow, you still don't feel like yourself.
Last year I had dinner with a group of pharmacist friends in Melbourne. We're all in our late 40s.
Halfway through the meal, one of my friends started laughing at herself.
She'd noticed her hair tie had been feeling looser lately. She'd been tying it three rounds instead of two — and assumed the band had stretched.
Then it hit her.
The rubber band was fine. Her hair was thinning — and she hadn't connected it to perimenopause. None of us had even said the word out loud yet.
That opened the floodgates. Suddenly everyone at the table was talking — their shampoos, their skin, their joints. The supplements they'd been quietly taking. The symptoms they'd been googling at 3am. The things they hadn't told their doctors because they weren't sure it was "serious enough."
We're pharmacists. We should have known.
Researching from both worlds — one cup of tea at a time.
Then they all turned to me — the one pharmacist at the table who is also a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner — and asked: "Are there any herbs or Chinese Medicine approaches we should know about?"
That question followed me all the way to Korea.
When women look for answers about perimenopause, they usually end up in one of two places.
Some go straight to their doctor — and come home with a prescription for HRT, or a referral to wait and see. Some turn to natural health — and find themselves overwhelmed by supplements, conflicting advice, and protocols that don't quite fit.
Both camps are speaking from their own experience. From where they stand, they are not wrong.
But most women I speak to feel like something is still missing. Like the full picture hasn't been shown to them yet.
That's the conversation I want to have.
This is what thousands of years of observing women's health have made possible. Not a replacement for Western medicine. A lens that sees earlier, reads differently, and offers a path alongside it.
Traditional Chinese Medicine has always been built on one core principle: don't wait for the crisis. The body speaks before it breaks down. The practitioner's job is to read those signals early — and respond before the window closes.
Most women are never told this window exists. That it has a shape, a timing, a logic. That what you do now — before the heaviest symptoms arrive — matters more than most people realise.
That's what I want to show you. It's what the podcast is about.
Maybe that story is yours. Or maybe you're here for someone else entirely.
I'm in this season myself — perimenopause, menopause, or preparing for what's coming.
Someone I love is going through this — a partner, a mother, a friend — and I want to understand. The best thing you can do right now is share this page with her.
I'm not sure yet — I'm still connecting the dots between what I'm feeling and what this might be.
"I've been sitting with these questions myself.
That's why I started researching this properly."
I hold dual Australian registrations — as a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner and as a pharmacist. Both credentials, 20+ years of practice in both systems.
These two worlds don't usually talk to each other. For some, they feel like opposites — even enemies, because the philosophies are so different. But I've never seen them that way. I see a woman who deserves to understand both, and to choose what works for her. My job is to show you the full picture — and help you decide what belongs in your own.
Right now, I'm navigating this transition myself. That's why I started researching this properly.
I'm so glad you're here.
