When it comes to self-care, the ancient wisdom believes prevention is always better than treatment. Taking proactive measures to stay healthy and balanced can save time, energy and money in the long run. Most importantly, you will feel this sense of holistic wellness at every stage of your life!

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) takes a very unique and holistic view of life and self-care through a concept called Yang Sheng (养生 – Nurturing life/health).

While it is very similar to modern health advice (e.g., eating nutritious meals, exercising regularly, getting enough rest/sleep, etc.), there are many subtle differences that are not typically explored in Western health circles. This Yang Sheng practice is common knowledge among the older generations in the East, almost like ‘secrets’ that haven’t been uncovered.

In this mini-course, you’ll delve into the timeless wisdom of TCM, accumulated over thousands of years of practice. This isn’t just about following a set of instructions; it’s about understanding and harmonizing with your body’s unique needs.

I invite you to explore these time-tested practices and notice the nuanced differences they can make in your well-being. Embrace this journey of proactive self-care and discover the profound impact it can have on all aspects of your life. Let’s make this year about more than just following trends; let’s make it about truly understanding and nurturing our health.

Introducing

TCM Self-Care Mini-Course

Are you hoping to take your self-care routine to a ‘different’ level, beyond the usual trends?  Perhaps you’ve tried numerous wellness fads, like consuming lots of raw foods or ginger shots, but haven’t found a practice that works well or truly resonates with you. Hi, if we haven't met yet
I'm Shirley, TCM Practitioner and (Western Medicine) Pharmacist in Australia.

TCM has been a part of my life since I was very young, as my father, a Traditional Chinese doctor in Malaysia for 50 years, instilled in me the wisdom and practices of this ancient healing system. Growing up in a family of TCM practitioners and food lovers, I had the privilege of observing my father consult with patients and dispense herbs in his clinic. I was his daughter and apprentice.

I feel extremely fortunate to be able to learn this wonderful holistic health system from both my father, and more formally when I gained my Master’s degree in Chinese Medicine at RMIT University in Australia, and trained at TCM hospitals in China for 3 years. It was my father’s belief in the complementary nature of conventional and traditional medicine that shaped my path and made me who I am today. I have over 20 years of clinical experience in pharmacy and more than 10 years in Chinese Medicine.

Why Learn From Me?

With my unique background and training, deep roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine, multilingual skills and multicultural experience, you’ll gain a well-rounded learning experience that goes beyond textbooks and charts

Guiding You through Conventional and Traditional Medicine

Guiding You through Conventional and Traditional Medicine

As a trained pharmacist in Western medicine and a Chinese Medicine practitioner, I’ll guide you through the intricacies of both medical systems, bridging the gap between modern medicine and traditional practices. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of how these two perspectives intertwine and complement each other. While the course primarily focuses on Chinese medicine, I occasionally delve into the scientific findings of Chinese Medicine and herbs.

.

Sharing the Wisdom of Generations

Sharing the Wisdom of Generations

Growing up in a family of TCM practitioners, I am fortunate to have inherited a wealth of experience and wisdom in TCM. This deep-rooted understanding, combined with my formal education, is infused into every aspect of the course. I believe in the significance of passing down this wisdom, and I’m excited to share the insights gained through generations of TCM practice with you. Together, we’ll explore the benefits of Chinese herbal food and its profound impact on well-being.

Discovering Untapped Knowledge and
Cultural Treasures

Discovering Untapped Knowledge and Cultural Treasures

As a multilingual speaker of Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, I can navigate and interpret TCM resources and research in both Eastern and Western languages. My multicultural and living experiences in different countries, have given me invaluable insights into diverse communities and their unique practices in this ancient healing art. Through me, you’ll have access to knowledge, information, and experiences that may otherwise be less accessible. I’m dedicated to translating the meaning of herbs and foods across cultures, uncovering hidden wisdom and unique solutions.

Feedback from a participant on the self-care workbook/journal

“If you practise moderation and regularity in lifestyle and diet, live in harmony with the four seasons, and avoid physical overexertion and emotional excesses, your body and soul become one and flourish. You can enjoy longevity and live past 100 years old.”

(《黄帝内经》 The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine)

What does this really mean? Join this mini-course to dive deeper in this ancient wisdom!

You'll receive a FREE 150 pages TCM Self-care DIGITAL Workbook/Journal

This digital journal was initially created for the members of my TCM Wellness Circle membership. I spent many sleepless nights (not too TCM self-care!) to get design this, and then I thought I could give it to workshop participants as a free gift to encourage you to continue on the journey after the workshop.

It was born out of my wish to support you to implement TCM wisdom in your daily routine. It has a mix of modern mindfulness, TCM, and habit-building prompts. The goal is to support you to blend TCM self-care practices into your modern life! I hope you’ll love this journal as much as I do!

I have questions!

What if I can't attend the workshop live?

The workshops will be recorded, including the Q&A session after the workshop. You’ll receive the replay video, so that you can watch it at your pace.

How much is the digital journal if I decide not to sign up for the mini-course?

The digital journal alone is US$15. And you guess right, it’s new year! You can get it for US $9.90! But this offer is limited for this period only.

What are included in the digital self-care journal?
This Holistic TCM Self-Care Journal is a guided journal that helps you to explore all aspects of your self-care. It includes sections on physical, mental, and spiritual self-care. There is also another section for understanding your relationship with others, your home, and your environment, which are important aspects for overall wellbeing according to TCM. I give TCM-specific tips and tricks, as well as prompts to help you incorporate TCM self-care practice into your daily routine.

The journal also has space for you to set goals for your self-care journey and track your progress. By journaling about your self-care, you will be able to identify areas that need improvement and make lasting changes to improve your overall health and well-being.
I have more questions. Who should I talk to?

If you have any questions or special requests for the workshop, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at support@chineseherbalpantry.com. We are here to help and are happy to accommodate any needs or requests you may have.

Aren't these actions too late?

“Treating an illness after it has taken shape is like suppressing a revolt after it has broken out. If someone digs a well only when thirsty, or forges weapons only after a war has begun. Aren’t these actions too late?”  (《黄帝内经》 The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine)

Don’t wait until an illness arises, only then do you start to think about self-care. Start your self-care practice now!
